Help Support Our Ambitions to Create an Equitable Spatial Web!
We’ve officially launched our project on Artizen.Fund this week to help acquire the funds necessary to bring our entire augmented reality platform on-chain. Being the only AR company to completely decentralize our service offering, we aim to provide AR creators with full authorship and ownership of their works, offering persistence in a space that saw millions of works deleted by centralized platforms Meta, Adobe, and Niantic over the last year alone.Â
Subsequently, the architecture behind this move will also give individual users, visitors, and contributors to the spatial web authorship and ownership benefits, an alternative to the existing spatial web paradigm. We believe an anonymized and user owned spatial internet is essential for a free society and is the path away from techno-tyranny (though a decent name for a musical artist).
How and Why We Came to This Decision
Illust is a pioneer of AR x blockchain technology. From our 2020 launch of the first AR NFT collection with MF DOOM, to our global series of AR exhibitions, we’ve been pushing the limits of spatial technology.
Our project is community driven. We’ve seen harm to culture first hand, with centralized platforms destroying the creative output and stories crafted from most of the members of its communies in 2025.
As this technology becomes more ubiquitous, it’s essential to preserve these cultural moments through blockchain technologies. Moving AR onchain will create an archive for digital storytelling that will live beyond us and will create new economic models for creators and consumers alike.
Rewards for Your Funding Support
Your support in this endeavor helps us plant the seeds for the future spatial web and you should be rewarded. This is how we plan to support you in return:
- $200Â (Day 1 Creator):Â access to illust’s existing AR studio for a full year to craft and deploy AR experiences to any location in the world.
- $500 (Founding Member): name listed on project site as a founding supporter. Early access + private roadmap.
- $1,000 (Spatial Patron): a monument in your name will be added to a location of your choosing, anchored indefinitely on our onchain geo-registry.
- $5,000 (Artifact Commissioner): we will develop a custom AR artifact to be geo anchored to your city that will live on our onchain geo-registry indefinitely.
- $50,000 (Genesis Contributor): your name or organization will be added to the spatial smart-contracts we use to launch the onchain spatial internet.
Why Artizen Works for Our Fundraising Goals
We chose to launch our project on Artizen for many reasons:
- Match Funding: we’ve been accepted by 3 different funds. Every dollar raised, we receives a dollar in match funding up to a certain level. This creates a multiple for every dollar you donate.
- Gamification: throughout the season, we will be able to participate in funding challenges. When certain thresholds are met, bonus funding from the Artizen endowment is released to our project. For example, in this first week, the project who raises the most in funding will receive a $20,000 bonus. Also projects will receive a 1:1 match from the endowment for every dollar raised.
- Community: the Artizen platform is built with creators and builder at the forefront. Many of these projects are from creators looking to shape how our world will look one, two, and twenty years from now and isn’t restricted to western countries.Â
- Web3 Tie In: Artifacts, which are the units that are purchased from patrons of our project are in the form of an 1155 NFT. We can use this to reward holders with token gated access to our application, future airdrops, and other rewards for early participation.
