Non-Fungible Token (NFT)

What's this all about?

The next digital transformation is underway and it’s sponsored by the largest tech companies in the game.

Illust Space

A global map that places digital art in the real world. All collected works can be placed in "geo-space" like "Pokemon-Go".

Ethereum

All art in the Ghosting auction has been minted on the Ethereum Network and can be transacted using the ethereum cryptocurrency.

Non-fungible Token (NFT)

A digital certificate of authenticity that gives digital art provenance. NFT's are created through "minting" on a blockchain network.

FAQs

A non-fungible token (NFT) is a unique digital asset with verifiable scarcity. A digital asset, in this case, is a piece of art. Prior to the advent of NFTs, online artwork was notoriously difficult to value and trade, by virtue of the fickle nature of ownership and scarcity on the internet. NFTs eliminate those issues, allowing digital assets to be verifiably scarce, and enabling ownership to be immutably recorded over time.

NFTs are powered by blockchain, a distributed ledger technology that enables peer to peer transactions on an open source database. NFTs are traded on this ledger, enabling a robust and permissionless marketplace for artwork.

Yes, in order to purchase crypto art or NFT’s from the Illust Space Marketplace you will need a crypto wallet. With Illust, be sure to create or link an existing wallet to your profile. We give collectors the option to purchase NFT’s using either Ethereum or Tezos (supported in the Fall).

Please read the following to learn more about how to set up a crypto wallet and acquire currency. Here’s a tutorial from social agency owner Gary V.

Illust Space is able to work with collectors who are planning on spending over $10,000 on the site. Please contact one of our representative directly by reaching out here.

Please allow 7 days before making purchases to become an official Illust Collector.
