PoP Use Case: The Scavenger Hunt

This is part 1 of a series of blogs that will demonstrate use cases for Proof of Presence experiences and hopefully inspire you to deploy some into the world.

Proof of Presence (PoP) integrates incentives into the AR assets on our map. It makes our metaverse programmable, giving creators the means to design interactive experiences and build lasting connections with fans that can be built upon over time. PoP allows us to prove an individual’s presence at a specific time and location by giving them an NFT minted on Polygon in return for activating the experience.

The digital world is globally accessible. One of our primary goals at Illust Space is to give localities unique digital experiences that can only be accessed by those physically present. This strengthens the connection to the experience for the user and creates value for the physical location by attracting more people and creating a digital culture.

One of the most basic local use cases is a scavenger hunt to help tourists explore a city. Visiting a new city can be overwhelming. You’re in a new environment and travel can be expensive. Our map will provide a (or many options for a) tour designed by locals. Instead of visiting the regular tourist traps on Hollywood Boulevard, let me take you on a journey through my Los Angeles.

This is a sample of Noah’s Welcome to LA scavenger hunt (Launching in the Summer)

Open up Ar.illust.space in your phone’s browser to access the experience.

  1. The first thing you have to do when you get to LA is find an in-n-out and get a double-double animal style. You should experience the animal-style fries if you haven’t before but be sure to eat them quickly because there is nothing sadder than cold in-n-out fries. Visit any of these locations and to collect Noah’s In-n-out PoP.

9245 Venice Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90034-3324

7009 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90028-7509

9149 S Sepulveda Blvd, Monterey Park, Los Angeles, CA 90045-4803

  1. No matter when you arrive, you’ll want to see the beach. If you have a vehicle I recommend driving up to Malibu to see the pier. If not, walk along the beach at the Venice boardwalk and find the skatepark. One of my AR pieces will be placed there.

Malibu Pier: 23000 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu Pier, Los Angeles, CA

Venice Skate Park: 123 Venice Beach Venice, CA 90291Venice

  1. Head across town to West Hollywood to check out the Melrose/Fairfax/La Brea area. This place is full of restaurants and cool places to shop. My PoP is located outside my favorite restaurant Pizzeria Mozza. I highly encourage you to make a reservation there.

641 N Highland Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036-2017

  1. Lastly, you’re going to want to check out the Wisdom Tree hike for some views of the city and time outdoors. Follow this link for directions and collect PoP when you reach the Wisdom Tree.

After collecting all 4 visit my future microsite and connect your wallet to redeem a special NFT designed by me for walking a mile (or a few) in my shoes during your visit to Los Angeles.

In crypto, we talk a lot about brands entering the metaverse but it’s your metaverse too. There are no qualifications for building digital experiences. Come leave a part of yourself in the digital world and share it on social for your friends to discover and interact with it.
